There are many things that I’m strangely addicted to and am obsessed with. Coffee, magazines, baby feet, polka dots and stripes together are just a few of them. But it seems like my biggest obsession these days are cookbooks. Maybe it’s because they are filled with beautiful photographs. Maybe it’s because I love reading the stories/inspiration behind the meals and dishes that the author has decided to include in their book. But really, I think it’s because I love food! I don’t just love food, but I love the process of making food. There is something therapeutic about following the directions and creating something delicious. It is sort of like math, you follow the formula and you get the correct answer – but only better because what you end up with is something yummy and something you can share with those your love.
Sadly, most of my beloved cookbooks sit in the pantry collecting dust. Sure, they come out of hiding when I become inspired to cook a favorite meal that I just haven’t memorized yet. I want to change that! I am thinking about cooking and baking my way through my cookbooks, reminiscent to this. I am still not sure exactly how I will do it, but I hope you will be here to see all delicious happen!
xo,
Andrea

I love cookbooks too. I have really specific requirements in my cookbooks too, it seems. And lovely photography is key! I just bought Dinner a Love Story…not to feed your habit, but it’s worth a look! I also love cooking magazines, and those are just as likely to gather dust as my cookbooks. I’ve thought about cooking my way through a couple, but hmmm… I don’t know. I will gladly follow along if you get so inspired though! Sounds like a fun project.
Hi Lauren!
I am thinking about cooking my way through a couple of them, but I don’t know either. Haha. The dessert cookbooks, for sure I can do. But the other ones, I am stuck. I know an idea will come to me, and I can’t wait to share what I come up with!
I know! I had to stop buying them because I wasn’t keeping up with the actual cooking the recipes part. They are addicting and new ones come out often! Teri
They definitely know how to feed our addiction, don’t they! So glad, I am not alone. Do you have any favorites?
I LOVEEE cookbooks although I can honestly say, the number of meals that I made from a cookbook can be counted with my fingers! Like Lauren, the cookbook needs to have good photography. On. Each. Recipe. =)
It’s a great idea! I love cookbooks also… I’ve started to search the net because I have such a collection but it’s not the same, you never stumble upon something you wouldn’t normally think about cooking like that… Look forward to reading about your discoveries. Mel
