Style | Mission to Maui

0

03.8.12

It is official, my friends. The hubby and I are heading to Maui sans children!!! This will be our first vacation without our minis – craziness! (Forgive me for all the exclamation points, it’s sort of a big thing.)But definitely well earned after all 12 years.

Hotel – check. Airfare – check. Someone to watch our kids while we are gone – check. With all the major things crossed off of our list, I can now day dream about my dream vacation wardrobe. And when I think about Maui, or Hawaii in general, I think of those oh-so-beautiful sandy beaches. I mean seriously, can I go there now?

So what better place to start than with what I would wear on the beach. While, I tend to go for clean, simple, modern designs. I LOVE pattern! And these two Mara Hoffman pieces are simply to die for!

1. Long Chiffon Cocoon (here) This long chiffon cocoon is perfect for covering up. Not to mention it would look super awesome paired with with denim cut-offs and a tank.

2. High Waisted Bikini (here). Let’s face it, after 4 kids, the bikini body isn’t in the same shape as it used to be. But that doesn’t mean you still can’t rock a two-piece. And these days, more coverage is just as hot. Especially in this fabulous high waisted number!

The countdown has officially begun! We are a couple of short months away from our getaway. Can’t wait to share all of the fun with you!

Happy Friday and have a fabulous weekend!

xo,

Andrea

Styled Mama | Pattern Play

26.6.12

A couple weeks ago, I introduced a new style series to the blog [Styled Mini]. It was geared towards the littles, featuring clothes that I would totally put on my children. To be honest, I would totally wear them too! If you have a Style Mini, you have to have a StyledMama, right?

I am obsessed with patterns. So why not wear them, two or three at a time :)

Hello, friends! We are in serious summer countdown mode over here. 4.5 days until the fun begins! To say that we are looking forward to it would be an understatement. We are going to have such a fun summer, so why not get a little playful with the mini wardrobe. I am totally a fan of mixing patterns for adults. So, why not for the littles? Stripes and polka dots say,”It’s a party!” This little outfit is perfect for all the funthe summer will bring.

Ombre Obsessed

02.11.11

If there is one trend that I’m really into this fall, it’s Ombre.  A French term meaning “shaded,” the gradual color shift is making a statement this season.  Here are just a few of my favorite looks!

1.  Whitney Port (image via The Frisky) 2.  Image found via All WomenStalk  3.  Image found via Beauty Lish

Thinking about trying this with your hair, but are afraid of such a drastic change?  Start with a subtle ombre and go from there, you can always go lighter later.

P.S.  I recently had my hair Ombre’d – it is awesome!!!

And some ombre for your closet.

In fashion, I’ve seen ombre in just about any color your can think of.  But for me, I’m totally loving the more subtle color shift.
